Worshippers had gathered at Quiapo Church to celebrate the Feast of the Black Nazarene, while other devotees assembled at the Quirino Grandstand and walked to the Quiapo church.
The two- hours procession, called a “Walk of Faith” by devotees, started Sunday morning, January 8, 2023.
120,000 people walking and some with bare feet could be seen assembled near the church.

They held Hourly masses the next day, January 9, 2023, attended by more than 250,000 worshippers from different cities.
Instead of the traditional “Pahalik” they were only allowed to touch the image of the Black Nazarene and they put replicas outside the church for other people who could not come inside. Some people waited in the long queue just to get for the touching with Nazarene.
The activity was done safely and organized compared to previous years. The church is still suspending the traditional procession due to the pandemic and introduced the “Walk of Faith” at this year’s feast.

Devotees from different places came with their friends and families to celebrate.
